Las Cruces, NM — Families, caregivers, and community members are invited to a free, family-friendly safety event on Saturday, February 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Plaza de Las Cruces (100 N Main St., Las Cruces, NM 88001).
The Early Childhood Education Coalition of the Success Partnership is proud to organize this community-centered event, bringing together local partners to create a welcoming space focused on everyday safety, connection, and shared responsibility. The event is designed to support families with young children while remaining open and inclusive to the entire community. Safety is not just one program or one agency; it’s something built together through connection, awareness, and shared care.
Attendees can expect safety-focused activities and demonstrations, access to helpful community resources, and opportunities to connect with local organizations that support children and families. The event will also include food, water, free books, games, and giveaways for families.
Rather than focusing on any one issue, the event emphasizes the idea that creating safer environments for children happens collectively — at home, at school, and across the community. Partners are contributing in ways that prioritize education, trust, and practical tools families can use in their everyday lives.
The event is free and open to all. Families are encouraged to come as they are, stay as long as they like, and engage at their own pace.
